Purple Dream was a piece drawn by hand by Tyler Foust. All abstract linework by Tyler is created by what he calls "procedural drawing". In his definition, procedural drawing is when you create a set of rules to dictate the art piece. With procedural drawing, the artist trusts the rules to create the image rather than having a final image in mind.
The paper was first dyed using marker ink that was mixed into water. After the paper dried, Tyler embellished the paper with linework using a custom set of rules that he follows to dictate line placement.
The idea behind any "Dream" titled piece is to use affordable art supplies that would be found in an elementary art class. The thought is that you do not need the most expensive supplies to create art.
