Location: Death Valley National Park during the 2021 Blood Moon

As I was sitting in my California apartment, I learned about the Blood Moon and knew I wanted to do something big for it. I had this vision of utilizing the Death Valley sand dunes and a subject, and isolating them once the moon set. We drove 8 hours to Vegas, checked into our hotel, then drove 2 more hours to get to the park. We hiked out to a mile or so to get the bigger dunes in the scene. We waited through out the night until it started to set, and got to work. One of my most memorable photos and experiences during my photography career.
