Ascension

The most beautiful cloud inversion I’ve had the pleasure to witness in Yosemite National Park. After driving through the night and photographing Yosemite Valley by moonlight through dawn, this was the sunrise I was treated to. As the sun broke free from the clouds, it radiated warm light onto the low fog hovering over the valley floor like golden waves. El Capitan emerged from behind its veil and Bridalveil Fall dumped a heavy pour into the mist. Evergreen treetops poked out through the fog as ebbed and flowed in a hypnotic trance. A moment of peaceful serenity humbled by the beauty of Mother Nature.
