"Krishna Manifests" is my attempt to capture a powerful moment from the Mahabharata. It's the scene where Krishna shows Arjuna his true form, revealing that he's more than just a friend and charioteer - he's the essence of everything, he's the entire universe. I've always been fascinated by this story because it tackles the subject of what human brains can perceive and can we see something that is present if we are not ready to see it. It's like trying to imagine a shape or movement with much more than three dimensions – our brains just aren't wired for it.
I turned to cubism for this piece because, in many ways, it feels like a solution to this problem. Cubism breaks things down, showing multiple perspectives at once. It's a bit like trying to understand a complex story by listening to different people's versions of it. Through the fractured and abstracted forms, I hoped to give a sense of that overwhelming multi-dimensionality Krishna showed Arjuna.
AI and algorithms are my chosen medium, and of course it is usually the medium that chooses the artist and not the other way around.
