The Igbo Landing is a historical event that occurred in 1803 on St. Simons Island, Georgia, USA. A group of Igbo people, who were enslaved and brought to America from West Africa, revolted against their captors. Rather than submit to a life of slavery, they chose to walk into the marshes and drown themselves.
