Solo

Solo was created in Arthur’s Pass, New Zealand, on a quiet night that asked for patience and a bit of adventure. I carried my tent and camera gear up to an alpine tarn and shot a wide foreground panorama, planning to blend it with a multi-row sky panorama I had in mind. The Milky Way climbs above the range and spills into the tarn, the core glowing in the reflection like a second sky. Faint airglow colours the horizon in soft greens and warm oranges, while the tent adds a small human heartbeat to the stillness. I packed an extra headtorch specifically to light the tent, knowing that little glow would anchor the scene. Hiking down in the dark, the rain arrived, and it felt strangely refreshing, the kind of ending that makes the whole effort feel complete.
