symbols emerge

Your brain is constantly pattern-matching. No matter what sensory input is being explored, it will attempt to find things that look familiar or interesting. Even when you are staring at what seems to be random patterns, you can't help but see faces where there are none. It's what brains do, and it's part of what makes us intelligence beings. This work explores symbols as they emerge from a cellular automaton. Because of the trance-like visuals, I added sounds of the om mantra and a Buddhist bell, which I recorded myself. I also tracked a fuzzy distorted heavy metal guitar to add some drone and used a handheld synthesizer as noisy filler.
