The Hokkaido wolf is reputedly extinct but at the time of master Japanese artist Hokusai's painting of The Great Wave, it roamed on the island of Honshu. Here I have created a composite image depicting it as it emerges from the waves in the moonlight. The image is textured in the original woodblock style and then animated.
