This work is part of my series “Detouched”, a collection of abstract portraits. I create the works from the facial ‘flaws' such as wrinkles, moles, blemishes, and stray hairs which are often removed from commercial portraits. I erase each face digitally except for these imperfections, which I arrange on a white backdrop. This new configuration bears little facial resemblance and instead it suggests a nebula or celestial body. “Where I End and You Begin #2” includes my own imperfections with those of a small group of friends at the time of creation. The imperfections are roughly arranged based on size and intensity in a spiral grid.
