Lyf/Def is a diptych encapsulating the only portions of this mortal coil that make any sense: the beginning and the end.
The fragility of life has always been something that’s called to me. ‘Lyf’ only exists because I noticed some strange fungi growing on a small log outside of my apartment the day after a heavy rain. I thought it was beautiful, so I took a picture of it, and went about my business. Exactly 24 hours later - leaving my home once again, I saw that the same exact log and all of the new life... was dead. Fuck. But that was kinda cool, in a beautiful, haunting, “cherish each moment” kinda way.
Same subject, one day difference.
