I turned a year older a few days ago and I’ve been reflecting on how blessed I’ve been to see some results of all my work so early in my craft.
But, I’ve also seen how these things I’m working for can work against me when I don’t keep my core in mind.
When I’m lost in the money, the validation, the meetings and the interviews.
I don’t like explaining my paintings because I feel like they are very open-ended and free to interpret but in this painting, I see realization.
I see King Midas, floating in all the gold he’d made, and understanding too late that he’s drowning.
I see pain, and I see hope.
In this painting, I see myself.
