0:20 looping kinetic GLB sculpture.
I equate this work to the human body. To me, it has a sense of breathing, while still being constrained within a form. There is a dialogue between the elements - freedom/containment, fluidity/rigidity, feminine/masculine. It is a piece to be thought about, but it is also a piece for one to simply reflect on the beauty of its form and motion.
This sculpture is an exercise in complexity and simplicity. What can be done inside a small file size, and within the limited structure of a GLB file? How far can this format be pushed? Can pieces of beauty exist in this framework?
This sculpture is presented in its raw form, without baked-in lighting or other tricks to help its presentation. It is left to the GLB viewing application to interpret and light the image. It will look different in various viewers, based on their configurations. The goal with this is to offer a form of future-proofing and utility, since it is meant to live beyond the confines of a platform’s viewing mechanism. The GLB can be integrated into metaverse galleries or can be extracted and rendered through high-quality rendering solutions. I cannot predict how various software or viewers will be compatible with the piece, so I fully allow the owner of this piece to convert the 3D data into any format they wish or need.
