“In 2015 I was going through a depression, at that time I went inward and decided to focus all my energy into creating my art. I was playing around with portraits and actively trying to find inspiration from my peers. At that time there was a new Star Wars movie in the making and it was revealed that John Boyega was a part of the lead cast.
I was so inspired that a fellow south Londoner had made it all the way to Star Wars and I thought that by painting him, I would gain some insight into unlocking my own potential and awakening my own force. Once the painting was complete, I connected with John through a mutual friend and was invited to a special dinner the night before The Force Awakens was released, I then presented him with the painting which he signed to show his appreciation.”
