EVERYTIME I SEE YOU (STARS FALL FROM THE SKY)

Iridescent Hearts is a series of nostalgic pixel art that employs elements from the streamlined sophistication and aesthetics of 20th century billboard advertising, while poignantly exploring romance motifs and youth culture tropes. Remixed images of vintage manga characters are reduced to vivid pixelated outlines that shimmer like a neon wilderness, while scrolling text (often inspired by carefully chosen lyrics of 80’s New Wave love songs), glide across the screen, further amplifying the overall composition with passionately charged narratives. The result is a visually poetic distillation in which the viewer finds themselves occupying; an intangible LED screen dreamscape atmosphere arousing an induced nostalgia.
