Also commonly referred to as “Talking Sticks” - these fancy trekking poles are the next big thing amongst hiker and backpacking communities across Nester. They get their name(s) from the glowing head pommels located at the top of each pole, which are very much alive with magic and have the ability to speak to their hiker companions. Aside from their most obvious use case as a walking staff that provides support over uneven terrain, these new fangled trekking poles sport other useful features like : live weather updates and alerts, superb navigational capabilities, a sword mode for self-defense and bushwhacking, a collapsable ‘sleep ’n stow’ mode, and even the ability to catch up with other hikers’ trekking poles to swap info about the immediate area and trail conditions. If you have the means to afford a set of these, or know someone who can custom enchant your old poles, you won’t regret it! Hikers who have owned a pair report being very happy with their choice to switch over to “Live Gear” for its many apparent benefits and efficiencies - but also just to help stave off loneliness while out on the trail.
