The name of an artwork usually reflects the idea behind it, the methods used or the artists vision, but mine quite often try to direct the attention of the viewer onto a specific vision of the artwork.
In this case, when I showed the preliminary versions to some of my friends, we discussed all manners of ways the work could be interpreted, from an alien queen on the hunt, to some vast being sitting on a mountain throne. I decided to include both concepts in the title, to try and sway the viewers interpretation in that general direction.
Whether or not that worked, for me this artwork gives on an impression of vastness, set to the background of stars and galaxies.
What do you see, what do you feel when you contemplate this piece ?
