7 years ago, I made “What is Art?” to criticise contemporary exhibitions. To me they were trash. Fortunately I never posted this piece as my opinion was based on ignorance. However, this piece takes on a completely different meaning today, it is now a prophetic representation of a metaverse gallery. Many virtual worlds don’t include the body below the waste and so the woman is like one of these avatars. Also Trash Art has become a thriving genre of art and one that has been embraced by the NFT movement. Back in 2015, this piece asked the question: What is Art? And now in 2022, it has given itself an answer.
