Ouroboros

Ouroboros is the symbolic exploration of female sexuality and empowerment, examining the delicate marriage of sensual pleasure and the dark kiss of death. It is a tantalizing glimpse of humanity's purest pursuit; the bliss state found at the convergence of sexual delight and the shadowy reaches of mortality. Ouroboros is from our Coquettish series of statuaries that are comprised of stone females intimately entwined with metallic fauna, such as amphibians, mammals, and insects. The women in flirtatious positions of power, are owning and enjoying their sexuality, in a mutually fulfilling partnership. The series can be viewed metaphorically with the fauna representing the animalistic desires that exist within all of us. We are paying tribute to the elusive state of ultimate nirvana, and the apex moment in the arousing dance of orgasmic mortality.
