The warm glow of windows alongside a cool summer evening. The moon visible in the pastel sky, and a quiet stillness in the air. A beautiful scene, full of color, that will soon fall dark and be overcome by the night sky.
Standing still, just frozen in myself, waiting for the dread of nightfall despite the beauty that is in front of me. Staring off into the distance, looking at the moon and wondering if there is something better out there.
Even as I make no sound, will someone please hear me? Will someone come find me and walk me inside? Waiting for you, whoever you are, to come save me.
