Saudade

This piece is a result of dreaming and planning. It all started on 2020 covid phase when we were in lockdown. I was searching on Google Earth new locations on my province until i found a massive ridge. Eventually when things got better i started to go outdoors looking for this place. The first time i saw this incredible mountain i just got shocked & at the same time i was thinking how this places would look like if there was some clouds below. And then this journey started, the thing is that this place is at 4000mts above sea level and in the middle of two variables that needs to be executed in order to find clouds, which in the area as difficult at the proximity we wanted. We went there 6 times in a year, hiking, scouting and meassuring weather. And finally one day years of dreamming and planning came to us. We found the ridge rising above beautifull clouds, and i decided to capture it on my favorite time, blue hour, because i love the pastel tones it brings and the sense of peace. But there’s another meaning to this whole thing and why the name of the piece, SAUDADE. The meaning of this word is deeply connected with the Brazilian/Portuguese culture and soul. It's a word that defies translation but i can define it as encompasses a profound and complex emotion. It is often described as a deep sense of longing, nostalgia, or yearning. Yet, it goes beyond a mere feeling; it embodies a unique blend of emotions, memories, and sensations. Saudade encapsulates the ache one feels when separated from someone, something, or somewhere beloved. It carries within it the bittersweet essence of missing, of yearning to be reunited with what has been lost or left behind. It is a poignant longing that transcends time and space, connecting the past with the present. It invites us to embrace the complexity of our emotions and to appreciate the richness that comes from acknowledging the depth of our connections. It is a testament to the human capacity for love.
