In VC High Life, Harman combines AI and digital painting to craft a striking commentary on the superficiality of the modern financial elite. The central figure, a venture capitalist, is emblematic not just for his attire that harks back to the 1980s financial zenith of the NYC and London stock exchanges, but for his unmistakable features. His swept-back hair complements a smirk that hints at both arrogance and detachment, epitomizing the often aloof demeanor of those who navigate the financial world. The act of him sniffing lines from a nondescript plastic tray is a stark portrayal of the plasticity of his profession and lifestyle. The digital glitches on his face further drive home the theme of constructed personas. Through this vivid representation, Harman invites viewers to reflect on the veneers adopted by financial magnates and the genuine costs of such superficiality.
