Harman's latest painting from The 10th Estate, titled 'Residents,' presents a striking fusion of AI and digital painting, a reflection of Harman's extensive background in traditional oil portraiture. The work features two individuals from the 10th estate, captured in a sombre and defiant mood.
The anonymity of these characters, known only as 'residents,' adds a layer of intrigue and commentary. This deliberate choice hints at the dehumanizing aspect of the authoritarian 10th estate, where individual identities are seemingly erased or overshadowed by their societal status.
Through this artwork, Harman invites the audience to delve into the complex themes of identity, displacement, and authority. The painting's composition and the emotional depth it conveys challenge the viewers to consider the impact of authoritarian regimes on personal identity and the human spirit.
