This piece is from one of the most unique skydives I've ever done, "The Color Jump." We ordered around a thousand dollars worth of colored powder and jumped with it from a hot air balloon to create the visual you see here. I've seen this replicated so many times since, which is flattering for us as we aim to inspire. To inspire people to break out of societal norms and to chase those crazy ideas inside your head. To turn them into reality, because that’s what art is.
This piece means a lot to me as it symbolizes a time in my life where a group of friends and I truly felt unstoppable. We all lived in a house together, feeding off of each other daily. The energy was like nothing I’ve ever experienced before. Those days have passed, but I remind myself not to be sad because they’re over, but to smile because they happened. The feeling of all those memories are embodied in this piece and I hope in some way shape or form, that gets transmuted to you.
We lost our brother Maxim last year, who is somewhere in that big stream of powder. We love and miss you brother. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Maxim’s family in Ukraine.
This was quite a technical jump to capture, but after reflecting on the final outcome of this piece, I think we did a pretty good job. I utilized a 360 software to get this perspective of the jump, and then animated the photo to bring it to life.
