This artwork was created in May of 2024. This piece is a nod to and inspired by Pablo Picasso’s 1969 artwork. It was his fascination with with raw, almost primitive forms, marked by bold outlines and exaggerated features that inspired this piece. The artwork serves as a study and explores the same abstract style with heavy, simplified lines and a focus on form over realism. Apart from the abstracted and simplified forms, this work was created as my first exploration of digital painting and creating controlled chaos as I painted intentionally while also allowing my hand to create the unexpected and continue working from what was often unintentionally formed. It was an exciting first attempt to navigate a fully digital painted piece.
