This is what I was branded as—and through that label, my efforts were (silently) dismissed behind the scenes.
It’s rarer than a unicorn in real life. An elusive figure the art world insists doesn’t exist.
In reality, of course, this is not who I am, nor what I represent.
It’s what happened to the authentic left wing of a couple of decades ago—the ones who didn’t cheer for Big Pharma & corporate power, weren’t fond of new wars, and were culturally aware of the issues of their time. We didn’t change, but the map did a full reversal—while the woke took over.
To hammer it home once more:
There are no right-wing artists publicly.
The “inclusive” space of the arts is, in truth, one of the most suppressive environments for political diversity—from anarchists, centrists, and the authentic left, to anyone who might be considered right-wing. Not in the GOP sense, but simply for believing in things like self-responsibility, physical fitness, small government, sexually straight, faith in God, or libertarian principles. All of it gets lumped into the same "deplorable" pile.
The truth is, today’s art world is the most suppressive, least supportive of real idea exploration, and most insular it’s ever been in history. It’s become a playground for academic games and elite posturing—far removed from the actual interest of art itself.
At least twenty years behind the world we’re living in.
