This work is part of my series "Color, Balance". The base material for my paintings come from color adjustments applied to digitally retouched portraits. I abstract color applied to the photograph which becomes the starting point for a painting created in Photoshop. Pixels are pushed and subtle layers of color are added, blending remnants of the figure into the background. There is a softness to them but also elements of speed and violence.
