If less is more, how do we do more with less? Anubis is part of a minimalist series focused around colors, geometric shapes, and shadows. This piece is a nod to my origins of being born in Egypt, the obvious reference the pyramid is constructed with color gradients that mimic sources of light and give it a fake 3d perspective. The pyramid's position to the right side not respecting the composition is a statement to rebel against pre-made rules of how something has to be constructed and viewed. The background is meant to represent a sunset but since this piece is meant to go against the rules the gradient is flipped and repeated horizontally. Anubis is the only piece out of the 3 that doesn't feature a frame around its edges to again emphasize that rules are meant to be broken and in this case, the piece its self is rebelling to state that it doesn't need it.
