Painting as a medium was and still is a way to create worlds and capture our imagination in a 2D space, but these paintings are more than just an image, there is a whole environment that lies beyond and we as the viewer could only imagine it, until now. In my work, I recreated The Threatened Swan by Jan Asselijn in 3D software to reveal the composition in never seen before perspectives and also revitalize the medium and have it refreshed by more contemporary techniques on creating images. The new perspectives give us the ability to learn more about the original and possibly even reveal things we were not aware of. These new angles can enrich our imagination further, and let us become even more immersed and connected with the original motive by Jan Asselijn.
