Title: August 16th - 13:43 Medium: Super-8 film Aspect Ratio: 4:3 Resolution: 2880 x 2160 File Type: H.264 Codec / MP4. Comments: While walking towards the trails in Zion National Park w met two gentleman named, James & Terrill. We stopped and talked to them to ask for directions. James started telling us stories about Terrill when he was younger. They're love for one another was like father and son, they were a family. Terrill shared that he is James right hand man helping him through life as he did for him when he was younger. They were sweet guys to bump into on the path. I asked if I make their portrait for the project. They did not know what to do during the portrait so I said to do what feels natural. So James started pointing out rock formations on the mountain tops outside of the frame. Then something crazy happened! James said, Wait a minute, what is that?! You can see him change his demeanor during this clip. From being in a video, to genuinely seeing what we thought to be an alien spacecraft! As he was pointing to the sky, a silver rimmed UFO appeared and was hovering far up in the sky. It could've been a weather balloon or unidentified flying object. But it was shaped like something we had never seen before. I could not believe what was happening in this moment while we were shooting this video. An encounter with the paranormal. Once I stopped filming we all just sort of stood there staring into the blue sky at the silver sphere above. I zoomed in with my camera on another roll of film as well as with my phone to get a better look. Something felt off, perhaps in the electromagnetic field. Were we staring at another life form, or is our eyes playing tricks on us? You can feel it deep inside when something ain't right. I am not saying it was scary or intimidating, it just did not make sense what we were seeing. And thats what made this moment so beautiful. A candid discovery of the mystery unfolding before our eyes. Where family brought us together in the first place, we all became connected through this shared experience of an other worldly presence. They are the watchers, watching. What are these humans doing on this earth? Spying on us like we are ants and they are our Gods. It is a humbling feeling, but at least we know we are not alone in the universe. I mean, how could we be? What are the odds of humanity being the only life forms within the expanse of the trillions of star systems? Astronomers say that there are more stars in the universe than there is grains of sand of all the beaches on planet Earth. Can we even comprehend how much sand that is? When you pickup a fist full of sand on the beach to let it sift between your palm and fingers like a sand dial timer through its funnel. How much sand is that; Hundreds or thousands of tiny particles? Now imagine the entire planets beaches. The scale is incomprehensible! So to even imagine there are more stars than sand out there is beyond mind boggling. It hurts to think about, in a good way. We are limited to fathom this scale. But thats the beauty of life, it is out there, the only question is will it reach us before we reach it? Or is it already here with us now. Potentially even guiding us through technology and spiritual beliefs? I believe and have seen these beings. They may even be long lost relatives from outer space. Welcome home.
