Comments: We meet Eni and Demetrius by our lodge in Palmer. On an early morning hike surrounded by the fog and snowy mountains in a park nearby Ethan and I overlooked the magnificent nature that we immersed ourselves into. All you can hear is the cold brisk air. As we sat on a wooden fence I saw two people enter the area we were sitting in the park. They approached us carefully and I smiled wide and said hello. They came over and we introduced ourselves. Demetrius lived nearby and was showing his friend from Ghana around. We became friends quickly. They told us they were headed to a glacier later on in the day and invited us to come too. I said I would be happy to drive. Before we started the ride Eni busted out a powerful chocolate bar that contained psilocybin mushrooms. So we all broke a piece apart and dove deeper into this trip together. I love driving on mushrooms, though I would not recommend it for the faint of heart. I was in complete control, going very slow to make sure everyone was safe. I could feel the anxiety in the car bubbling up as the peak of the mountains poured over into our beating hearts. The mushrooms were working and we all started laughing. We arrived just in time for our glacial expedition and got booted up to crawl over the melting wonder. It is sad that it takes millions of years for these ice canyons to form, for only decades for it to start to melt and unravel an entirely different landscape as the ancient ice subsides from the rock walls. What will remain a hundred years? Even ten? Next year may look so different than now. Time changes, environments shifts, nothing stays the same forever. Enjoying the present moment is the gift. Try not to worry about the future or dwell in the past. The present is the only part that exists even as it slips by every second that we blink. It can only be felt, not spoken or heard. It is too late by that point the present breaks. Like the ice from solid matter into liquid frost creating pools. Energy changing patterns and the chemistry remains the same; Different states of being. Maybe I asked the guide too many questions, the perks of being on psychedelics is curiosity. The desire to understand and learn from others. We had a wonderful time with our new friends Demetrius and Eni. A friendship formed over a smile that took us to a frozen wonder just by saying hello. You really never know what alignment can bring you, if you are open to the adventure. It almost took us to Gabon and Ghana as this is where Demetrius and Eni family tree is from. We had planned to fly together and visit when we flow through Africa. I still wont give up on that dream! It is just a matter of time. Glaciers are the sacred giants all across the globe. They provide water that flows down the waterfalls. What will happen when they disappear and the rivers stop? Where does the water come from and where does it go. If water is life, where can we drink from in the future?
