Comments: It was early before our flight out of Alaska to head back to New York. Demetrius and Eni came over for breakfast and I cooked a fabulous meal for everyone. I love to cook and it fills me with joy to share that Italian spirit I learned from my father growing up in the kitchen with my friends and family. They invited their friend Shiela over and she joined us for the last supper in Palmer. For entertainment, I started playing the organ in the living room that had many built in light fixtures and audio features with all types of knobs and nozzles that made it sound and look like a ufo was landing in the front yard. It was an electronic symphony that couldn’t be wrote in notes, only in feelings; good vibrations. We all had one final hoorah in the hot tub outside in the frosty morning. Grateful for the time we spent together randomly meeting and making friendships. It’s what life is all about. To live and flow wherever you go and whoever that shows up on the same path forward. Shiela was ready for her close up before we took off from the lodge. I recorded her barefoot on the gravel road walking toward me through the fog. It was quiet and all you can hear was her laughter approaching. I loved the way she balanced her body and walked towards me. A whimsical dance into the lens. A nurse that cared for her patients, a friend who was there for hers. Shiela channeled the spirits of her ancestors and read our psychic fields. She said we were protected by angels and a glimpse into the future through what her third eye examined in the spirit world. We listened and prayed with her before hugging it out with the gang. They took off on one road and we drove down the other. It’s time to come back home from a long 50 states journey as we had completed the mission here in Alaska. A beautiful place to breathe and be immersed in the wilderness. I dream to return to Palmer to rest in their sauna, drink their crafted flavors of kombucha, and make music sounds on the alien sounding organ again.
