Comments: At the clock tower in the center of the stone city of Zurich with the daughter and granddaughter of the Shamans from Peru. Lesley. She moved to Switzerland from her home in Cusco for university. She wanted to become a photographer, and became a model. Met her husband and became a Swiss citizen. We first met in 2016 when she was a young girl at the San Pedro sanctuary at the Temple of the Moon. While in a ceremony of the grandfather plant medicine, I made a portrait of her face with a double exposure of the sky. It was her blue head in the blue sky turned into a Cyanotype print for the Cactus Diaries. I once gifted her a twin reflex camera to give her a film camera for school. It's nice to see someone you met since they were young grow up through your artwork, through the timeline of life, and every stage as we learn and grow. Her family is my spirit family. The tribe of the cactus have green hearts, like the chakra. Where is home when you leave town? How is family formed through love and connection? Being a kid in your village and becoming an adult in a big city for school or work. A lifetime that becomes longer than where you once was.
