Comments: From Hollywood to the Himalayas. Eli's friend who leads the Parmarth Niketan Ashram, Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswati, welcomed us in to the spiritual campus and provided warm meals with a place to sleep every evening as long as we wished to stay. Daily Satsongs and Nightly Arti's we were looped into the rituals here. Rishikesh had its hooks on us. Even when we tried to leave or wanted to continue. Something held us back, the city wanted us to stay. We prayed by the water and learned yoga by a street teacher on the rooftops by Mother Ganga at sunrise. I felt like the karate kid learning how to defend the sacred temple, the body itself. For the fire ceremonies in the morning you walk past more than 20 deities. Some Hindu spirits I never seen but connected with. The gemini twins of shiva. Blue angels together. We met Sadhvi with her daughter Shivani and devotee Pooja by where she hosts the daily Arti's beside the Shiva statue. The sacred women of the sacred river chanting love to Mother Ganga. Rishikesh; A city of divine feminine energy as the body moves like the fluidity of the river flowing. Namaste.
