Title: December 1st - 13:38 Medium: Super-8 film Aspect Ratio: 4:3 Resolution: 2880 x 2160 File Type: H.264 Codec / MP4. Comments: Lily was waiting for me at the cafe. She was in Rishikesh mastering yoga learning new forms. We decided to take a walk to the water as she brought a special white scarf as a prop to pray in the water with. We found a crowded small beach and was about to begin the shoot until a holy man dressed in orange came right up to us from the bushes. It seemed like he appeared out of nowhere like a ghost and asked if he could guide us to a better place on the beach to make the portrait. He gestured to follow him and we did. We walked through a small forest and climbed over massive rocks. We found ourselves arriving on a quiet patch of land grey with rocks and sands; the water gently flowing in this pocket. This was the spot, and he was right. I asked if he also would like to be in the video, as our spirit guide. From the time we met to where we sat he was sharing us wisdom and anecdotes. About the present moment, about prayer, about meditation. All you have to do is ask the right question. He sat atop the boulders in the lotus position. Divine masculine holding space for the divine feminine to express. Lily changed out of her clothes and stepped into the water with her handmade silk white robe scarf. Action! She began to stretch and release into the sky. Twisting her bodily form as she would in yoga. Using her body as a totem for liberation and connection to the gods in the heavens; Like Artemis reaching her arms and bow out to the mountains of Olympus. Man and woman channeling the energy of nature. Fluidity and grounding. The woman of the water, the man of the rock. The two pray in different ways, yet its the same.
