A second chance, five years apart, in the same place with my sangoma, Lindi. She is a highly respected traditional healer from the Swazi community. She channels the ancestors and works with herbs for remedies and throwing bones for divine guidance. We first met back in 2018 in Peru when she visited Lesley at the mountain house in Cusco. It was a shamanic cross over between South America and Africa medicine workers. When two healers get together you can only expect magic and miracles. Lindi was the person who helped me release the black bat from my shoulder blade. A paranormal residue that sticks like a blockage until you let it out and let it go. In 2019, on my first trip to Africa we reunited only this time it was in her homeland. We were on the same journey across the Garden of Eden highway with Lesley and the gang like a merry band of pranksters. Microdosing cactus medicine and connecting to the people in the group and the land as we cross the southern coast. At the end of the trip I was supposed to fly home but was stuck in Capetown for an extra day. And mishaps like this are sometimes the universe urging you to stay because you need to be here. Lindi invited me to stay with her and her family until my next flight the following day. We did a bone reading and it showed me what was to come that year, it prepared me and protected me from when I got home and dealt with trouble with love and the law. She guided me to wear a cloth that was sacred to my mother's jewish religion, pick up sea water from where I would go when I was a child at Corey beach, and rub this borage resin all over my body before I washed for bed. It was a distinct ritual and cleared the way. Lighting green candles to cut the cords of attachment, asking Archangel michael to use his flaming sword between me and the other. It worked! This time around, we did not go so deep in the ritual as we were simply enjoying each others company and we did a bone reading and everything felt and looked good. Just to keep going and doing what I am doing. Creating and staying true to the creative and healing path, as it will never end, only evolve. It felt more like being with family than needing to heal, which was the medicine after all. Love and belonging. Nature and sunshine. Bones and wild sage plants burning its aroma to ward off spells and evil spirits. Lindi and I ventured to her happy place, where there is a tree she favors most, I felt the calling to clean up all the trash around this tree for Lindi not to step on glass with her bare feet. We made her portrait for Smoke and Mirrors here and now we create for the Moments of the Unknown, as she represents herself this time instead of the archetype of strength. Strength reflects the ability to stay centered even when life becomes intense. It represents emotional resilience and quiet confidence. This time she emboldened Wisdom. For it is strengths twin sister. A mirror of how far we both have come in those five years passed. Daughters off to college working with new students from her craft, and me, around the world and back again following the sun around the moon. Friendship feels like family when you are part of the same tribe. It's a deep knowing and recognition, like we have done this in many lifetimes...
