I've met silence and its coat of many colours,
its periwinkle blue and violet-magenta calmness,
its poignant reminder that I am the last amongst five,
the one and only amongst six.
Today,
I am under, whelmed and floating back to the surface
with measured waves crashing on my troubled cracks,
as I rise and fall into complete surrender
into hues born from my intimacy with the ocean floor;
this too will pass; these memories will fade,
and what will remain is the colour of a happy accident.
