Constrained

In part, this is introspective a reflection of some of my innermost thoughts, emotions, and beliefs. Of someone simultaneously reaching out, and yet, at the same time, holding back. The wings I boldly carry are symbolic of my true identity. They represent love and freedom. And yet, they are folded, reflecting a reticence to deviate from what society expects of me. As a bisexual woman, I’ve lived much of my life in the shadows, revealing only the aspects of myself that would be accepted by conventional society. The image suggests an awakening a sense that I can be true, I should be true, I will be true to myself and my needs. A liberation.
