Phototaxis - The involuntary movement of a living thing toward light. A moth doesn't choose. The light calls, and the body flies, even knowing it might burn
I recognize myself in this. The pull to step out of the dark, to be seen, and the fear of all that the light will lay bare. But darkness is only safe in name. Nothing grows there. Light wounds and nourishes at once, and the only way to know which it will be is to fly closer
Moths know this in the body. I'm learning to know it in the heart
