The Mirror

Why do I create? Creation is somewhere between a mirror, a double, the subconscious echo. Beyond the reflection staring back at me from a mirror that is simultaneously window, copy, and void. To create is to articulate myself in the rupture between identity and reflection, a liminal echo whispered through the labyrinthine mirrors of self and other. The Mirror is less a portrait of me, than an assemblage, a multiplicity unfolding at the threshold between human consciousness and machine vision. In this recursive gesture, creation becomes a confrontation—not simply with my shadow, but with the shadow of humanity itself, fragmented and refracted through technological mediation. Here, identity & authenticity is always in flux, a fluid metamorphosis, a butterfly straining to emerge from the ouroboric cocoon of the subconscious. To create is to gaze into the mercurial poison of the mirror, knowing the reflected void will inevitably stare back and through me. It is an unanswered call, it is a blank projection in an empty theater, a becoming that is simultaneously parasitic and symbiotic. To look into oneself is to move beyond the binaries of belonging and exile, transcendence and imprisonment. As the technological singularity marches ever forward, where the boundaries between human and non-human dissolve, creation marks the space where the I exists in perpetual tension: isolated yet belonging, present yet always displaced, suspended in a question more existential than ontological—not merely "why do I create?" but the infinitely more perilous, "what am I so that I would create?"
