Giselle, Act II

Act II takes place in a forest at night, where Giselle’s spirit joins the Wilis, the ghostly women betrayed before their weddings who force men to dance until they die. When Albrecht comes to mourn her, the Wilis try to destroy him, but Giselle’s enduring love protects him until dawn. By saving him she also saves herself from becoming one of them.
