Memory Lane

Today is the day. The day you’ve been dreaming of for months. It’s finally your birthday. You have been up since an early morning, unable to sleep no more on this important day. Around 8 am you enthusiastically put on your clothes and run downstairs to embrace the day. The preparations are in full swing. Your dad has been busy in the garden since dawn, setting up all the awesome stuff for the party. He calls this day Mintday, it has something to do with his work. You don’t really get it, but you don’t mind. Nothing can spoil your mood today. Your friends are coming soon and you’re going to have a blast. You’re going to play medieval knights and Cowboys and Indians and run around like crazy. You’re going to laugh and scream and have fun. Your mom is in the kitchen, making all your favorite dishes. And the best thing is already waiting for you in the fridge. It’s a chocolate cake with thick shiny pink icing. It’s the kind that melts in your mouth and makes you taste heaven. It’s the most delicious thing ever. But that’s not even the best thing about today. The best thing is that you’re finally getting a BOUNCE HOUSE for your birthday. You’ve been begging for one every year, but it never happened. But this year, it did. Your parents finally agreed and got you one. They got it for the whole day! At this moment, it is already being inflated! You can’t wait any longer. You’re shaking with excitement and feeling a warm glow of happiness in your belly. You know that soon you’ll be jumping in your OWN bounce house. So here you are, at the beginning of this day that’s all yours, blissfully unaware that you’ll remember this birthday party for the rest of your life. The day that your parents got you a bounce house.
