Barachiel (Chapter 2)

The Expelled: Chapter Two — The Landed They fell. They adapted. Almost. The second chapter of this story begins on Earth, where the expelled angels crawl out of heaven’s ashes and into alleyways, suburbs, and city streets. The Landed explores a haunting metamorphosis, the struggle to shed their celestial skin and pass as human. But change is never clean. Beneath the hoodies and oversized coats, remnants remain: too many eyes flickering like secrets, halos ghosted into hairlines, mouths twisted with whispers of forgotten hymns. They hide in shadows, behind smoke, in the spaces where the world isn’t looking, but their otherness leaks through. This phase is about becoming and unbecoming. It is survival disguised as normalcy. It is the ache of identity splintering under the weight of assimilation. They are trying to blend in. They are failing. The Expelled captures the raw, chaotic aftermath of disobedience. These are the angels who defied the divine, shattered the rules, and were cast out, not with sorrow, but with fire in their veins. Each portrait is a fractured glimpse into their exile: faces fragmented by defiance, eyes multiplied like burdens they carry, halos crooked or burned away, wings clipped by consequence. Set against violent red, the color of fury, shame, and freedom, these figures stand as symbols of rebellion’s cost and strange beauty. Their fall from grace isn’t neat. It’s messy, unrepentant, and entirely their own. The Expelled isn’t about loss. It’s about what remains when heaven spits you out: identity forged in ruin, power claimed in the wreckage, and the haunting glory of those who refused to bow.
