Fragmented memories, tattered and torn
A whisper of a dream, ethereal yet forlorn
A token of remembrance slowly revealed
Releasing what was once concealed
The caged bird flies freely at last
No longer burdened by a haunted past
Swept along tumbling currents of air
She finds herself blissfully devoid of care
Weightless and untethered, she glides still higher
Once mere embers within, now a roaring fire
Fueling a spirit that was meant to fly free
Here, as unchained as her soul will ever be
Details:
"Requiem" is the second piece of my "Poetry in Motion" series of animated, dynamic storm images. Photographing storms is a rare opportunity to capture an extraordinarily fleeting and otherworldly moment, wherein I am entranced and nearly swept up by the magnificent power of Mother Nature.
It is these moments with storms that bring genuine joy and childlike wonder to my soul. No longer weighed down by personal struggles, which often threaten to suffocate me at any given moment, I feel untouchable and weightless. The electricity of the atmosphere causes the blood to surge through my veins indescribably, as though I am standing at the edge of my own existence, preparing to jump off an existential waterfall into blissful eternity.
