The Huzzas Collection began with my fascination with breaking waves, and has evolved into a study of the ocean at its most impressive. A challenge to study and document these one of a kind pieces of energy as a work of art.
As the world gets more and more crowded, surfing and ocean use more popular, as this project has towards showcasing waves in their best form, a lot of the places I began this journey at, become a challenge document as an empty wave.
This has seen us turn to exploring into the depths of our zones here, away from people and safety.
Yesterday we were presented with another 20 second period arriving out of nowhere swell which fired up one of the best beach break waves you will ever see, and it was at its very best. This place is known as The Rabbit Warren. I just like to call it Huzzas Beachie
As spectacular as it was. There were fairly limited opportunities to see and document this wave without someone on it, and to do so you needed to swim against a torrential rip current that is responsible for its existence. Literally like swimming against a flowing river, but yesterday was special. The energy expenditure was very worth it.
Of the few opportunities that ended up with surfers on them many had foam or imperfections from wave previous, but this wave came through in clean water and unleashed its energy with no human intervention with my positioning looking side on into it, 20 second period raw beach break power.
