This image technically, whilst in the relative safety of a wave close to the shoreline, is one of the most dangerous and challenging to shoot.
Created with a 50mm lens, I am required to be locked into the viewfinder to frame the wave as it engulfs me as i stand in waist deep water, as soon as this happens I have no periferal vision of what might be coming, or anything else other than the slightly zoomed moment platying out infront of my lens, shooting while going back to all my knowledge to not get my head taken off my shoulders and then escape out the back without getting blasted by a huge amount of Indian Ocean energy.
