This artwork title is an homage to Nathan and Kiwi, from Opal Hunting Adventures, two gentleman I connected with after seeing their opal mining channel, I ended up sponsoring these two with some Huzzas Clothing, which they proudly wore it on their youtube channel while underground mining for opal.
Opal miners can go weeks, months even years without finding colour. This pursuit is so fascinating to me, as is what result of the gological process to great these multicoloured gemstones.
On the rare occasion right at sunrise, these similar colours can be found streaking through the the lip of a huzzas slab, if you can position yourself in the right spot to catch the light permeating through the wave.
Nathan and Kiwi, who is 65! and fit as a fiddle, recently had a solid find which will allow them to keep mining for the next year. It is genuinely nuts what they do, following geological changes through the earth, often 20-40 metres underground. An honour to support these two even if in a small way, there are similarities in our separate pursuits.. both looking for gems created by water
