The wedge in the corner at Huzzas is one of the craziest beach break wedge waves on earth. This wave only appears every 2-3 years and to see it in its ultimate form is a pursuit we don't feel we have gotten close too yet considering what we have seen with our own eyes before.
This wave is created by a swell line impacting the granite headland and creating a side wedge the travels across into the natural amphitheater and if conditions are right connects with the next incoming wave and bends in around on the shallow sand bank creating incredible shapes.
To swim around in here means dealing with every peice of water that comes through, this little bay is extremely small and immediatley to my right is another headland of granite rocks meaning there is not much room to move and big consequence if one gets caught.
With the two waves meeting, this means two pieces of energy becoming one so the thickness and volume of water going over in these waves is a sight to behold. On top of this we regularly watch large sharks swim through this bay. meaning we are always on our toes here.
