This was one of the rarest days we have experienced at Huzzas but It was also one of the most challenging. Ive not experienced an afternoon with forty foot high wave faces in bright sunlight and not a cloud in the sky.
The whole afternoon I was shooting blind. Staring into the sunlight while driving the jetski amongst gigantic walls of water then putting my eye to the digital viewfinder, whilst with all the sunlight reflection and inability to adjust my eyesight through the viewfinder I had to trust everything ive ever done and document these huge waves and then pull my eye from the viewfinder and evacuate out of the path of this monstrous wall of emerald green water. Even though the wave came into shadow between driving the ski and getting my eye to the camera at the last second I was completely blind while shooting, my eyes wouldn't adjust to the camera screen.
