A beautiful sculptural, natural ocean arch documented at Huzzas Left on the Southern Coast of Western Australia.
This wave is really hard to shoot, behind my position is a dry reef surge, and as you can see in the foreground of this photo the wave carries so much water with it, that when colliding with the granite slab below it bends right in on itself. You need to be right on the shoulder as close as possible to the barrel. The wave has a size limit, meaning at times this channel where I am shooting from closes out, requiring verhy quick evacuation. There is no mucking around out here. If you have a spare moment, searching Kerby Brown Surfing The Left will allow you to see this wave in motion, captured exquisitely.
