The Mediterranean Sea in the Roman era was a melting pot of cultures, commerce, and art. In this vibrant environment, not only did gladiators fight for glory in the Colosseum, but there were also female gladiators, women who defied the norms of their time and bravely fought in the arena. These warriors, although less known, are a fascinating part of history that deserves to be explored through modern art and technology. I have created five portraits of female gladiators who were overlooked in their time simply for being women... don't you think there is a certain parallel with women in art?
